Troy Deeney gets 0 on Mastermind specialist subject as fans ask 'how's that possible'
Ex-Premier League ace Troy Deeney made his managerial debut in the dugout for Forest Green Rovers hours after BBC showed him 'starring' in an episode of Celebrity Mastermind
Fans are ripping into Troy Deeney after he scored a big fat zero on Celebrity Mastermind during the specialist subject round.
The former Premier League striker, who was appointed Forest Green Rovers boss earlier this week, was one of four celebrities to brave it on the popular BBC quiz show this week. Deeney fared reasonably well until he got to the specialist subject round, where contestants answer questions from a chosen topic, typically their bread and butter.
The Watford legend chose 'The Spider-Man movies', of all things, but failed to get a single question right. He exited the seat laughing to himself as viewers took to social media to lay into him.

"Troy Deeney actually got zero points on his specialist subject. How is that even possible?" one X user asked. Another wrote: "Deeney that was weak man #Mastermind."
A third said: "A huge thanks to Troy Deeney for providing me with the most entertaining 90 seconds of TV I’ve seen in a while. The audacity to choose a ‘The Spider-Man films’ as a specialist subject and not get a single one right is hilarious. I hope Anthony Knockaert was watching."

As his Mastermind horror show aired on TV, Deeney was gearing up for his managerial debut, with Forest Green Rovers taking on Gillingham at The New Lawn. The game finished 0-0, leaving Rovers five points from safety.
The 35-year-old joined the League Two outfit in August as a player-coach, but was promoted to head coach David Horseman's departure this month. The club are currently second bottom of the table after winning just four times in the league all season.
Deeney is best remembered for his 12-year stint as a player at Watford. He scored 140 goals for the Hornets in 419 games, including one of the most dramatic goals in English football history against Leicester in the 2013 Championship play-off semi-final.
