Millie Bright, Mary Earps and Lauren Hemp are the Lionesses included in the 2024 New Year Honours List for their part in England's World Cup efforts. The trio helped the European champions reach the final - the first of any England senior team since 1966 - where they fell just short and were narrowly beaten 1-0 by Spain. Other sports stars recognised include Peter Shilton and Stuart Broad.

Millie Bright, Mary Earps and Lauren Hemp have been honoured for helping to guide England to the World Cup final last summer, and are among several sports stars included in the 2024 New Year Honours List.
The Lionesses trio helped Sarina Wiegman’s side reach the final in Australia - the farthest any senior England team has reached since 1966 - where they narrowly lost 1-0 to Spain.
Skipper Bright, who led the 2022 European champions in the absence of the injured Leah Williamson, receives an OBE while goalkeeper Earps - who saved a penalty in the final - and Hemp are awarded MBEs.
Sticking with England, former goalkeeper and leading appearance holder Peter Shilton receives a CBE for his services to football and gambling harm prevention.
Another England international star awarded is Stuart Broad, who was honoured with a CBE for his services to cricket after he retired during England’s Ashes Test with Australia last summer.
Broad enjoyed a dream farewell as he hit a stunning six on the final ball he faced before taking the final winning wicket to draw England level in the series.
World Rugby Chairman Sir Bill Beaumont has had his knighthood upgraded to a Knight Grand Cross, while motor neurone disease fundraiser and former Scotland rugby star Rob Wainwright gets an OBE.
Wainwright’s former Scotland teammate Doddie Weir died last year after being diagnosed with MND in 2016, which led to Wainwright founding the Doddie Aid event, raising funds for the My Name'5 Doddie Foundation.

Another figure in football who has received a CBE is Premier League senior advisor Bill Bush, while Kick It Out’s Sanjay Bhandari and Troy Townsend are made MBEs.
Former Leeds manager and England caretaker boss Howard Wilkinson is recognised on the OBE list, as is Arsenal chief executive Vinai Venkatesham.
Brighton chairman Tony Bloom receives an MBE while former Scotland manager Alex McLeish is honoured with an OBE.
In Formula One, Red Bull Racing team principal Christian Horner receives a CBE the year he led his team to a second successive Constructors' Championship and Ron Dennis, former principal at McLaren, is knighted for his services to charity.
Kevin Sinfield has raised over £15m since his friend and former Leeds Rhinos teammate Rob Burrow was diagnosed with MND in December 2019.
The pair have been included in the honours list with CBEs for services to MND awareness.
