Doucoure, Gueye, Young, Dele - Everton injury news for Crystal Palace after latest Dyche update
Everton boss Sean Dyche has shared an injury update on four players in his squad ahead of the FA Cup clash against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park
Everton manager Sean Dyche has issued an injury update ahead of his side’s FA Cup clash with Crystal Palace.
The Blues will hope to utilise the famous cup competition as a means to get back to winning ways. Dyche’s side started December by building an incredible run of form, winning four consecutive games. However, the hectic festive fixture list and injury problems caused the reverse to unfold as the Toffees headed towards the New Year.
The FA Cup third round is steeped in tradition and Everton will hope to begin their second cup run of the season after being denied a Carabao Cup semi-final spot by Fulham on penalties, last month. Dyche admitted that he hopes to have at least a couple of players back to full fitness for the game at Selhurst Park on Thursday night and gave an update on Abdoulaye Doucoure, who last featured in the win over Burnley.
“These are the decisions that will be made,” Dyche said during his press conference. “There are people that are touch and go, we hope to have a couple of people back in with the idea of playing, certainly in the squad.

When asked about Doucoure, Dyche added: “Just about [in full training] but it will be a touch and go scenario.”
Everton have also been without Idrissa Gueye in recent weeks and supporters could face a longer wait to see him back in club action after being called up by Senegal for the Africa Cup of Nations. Meanwhile, Dyche also gave updates on both Dele and Ashley Young’s respective recoveries.
“Idrissa Gueye probably will go to AFCON,” the Everton boss continued. “He’s still here at the moment, undergoing treatment, but if that treatment comes to an end by early next week then it is within [Senegal’s] power to call him up.
“Dele’s being assessed, he's got an injury that still needs time. Youngy has been out on the grass but on the medical side. He’s still got a bit to go but it’s nice to see him back out on the grass.”
