Hearts will discover on Thursday whether they’ve won their appeal over Alan Forrest’s booking for simulation in Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Ross County.

An SFA fast track tribunal will hear their case of a wrongful caution at Hampden.Frustrated Jambos boss Steven Naismith took aim at the VAR officials after the winger was shown a yellow card by referee Alan Muir for going down in the box with the scoreline blank. Video evidence appeared to show Staggies keeper Ross Laidlaw catching Forrest with his foot - but VAR David Munro backed Muir’s on-field decision.

Hearts chiefs have now submitted footage and relevant documents in a bid to have the caution overturned. SFA rules state yellow cards for simulation can be appealed. Naismith slammed: "There is contact on Al Forrest. Now, I get the referee not seeing it with the speed of play, but VAR has got to see it. I have come in and looked at it and there is contact.

"If you pause it, there is contact, but it’s not given. It’s not good enough. There is contact, which means it’s a penalty. We might get an apology, Al might get his yellow card rescinded but I’m not sure he’s going to get enough [bookings] to get a suspension. It’s just really frustrating."
