Million Manhoef told Rangers transfer door IS open in January if 'conditions' are met as Vitesse drop hardline stance

The Dutch strugglers had reportedly batted away interested suitors amid their fight against Eredivise relegation.

Vitesse Arnhem boss Edwards Sturing appears to have cooled the suggestion the club would veto an exit for Million Manhoef this month – which could clear a path to Rangers.

Reports in the Netherlands had slapped down the prospect of the 22-year-old being allowed to leave midway through the Eredivise campaign with Vitesse in the midst of a relegation scrap. The club are rock bottom of the table and three points adrift of safety with the Dutch league now on winter break.

Wide man Manhoef is said to be attracting interest from Spain and England – with Ibrox boss Philippe Clement and director of football Nils Koppen said to be among his admirers as they evaluate the Dutch market to seek winter reinforcements before the restart of the Scottish Premiership campaign. Additions on the flanks could be essential with Abdallah Sima away on AFCON duty with Senegal.

And while concerns had been raised that a sale of the club's top scorer would effectively relegate the club, Sturing admitted that he and technical director Benjamin Schmedes would have to consider approaches – if certain conditions were met. Speaking to De Gelderlander about outgoing talent, the boss said: “We still have a lot of matches to go but there is absolutely a lot possible. We have to look at that. But then there are conditions that must be met.”
