Rangers misfit Sam Lammers targeted by Eredivisie club who see him as their ‘missing goalscorer’

SAM LAMMERS has only struck two goals in 31 games since joining Rangers in the summer.
But the Ibrox misfit is a reported target for a Dutch club who see him as their 'missing goalscorer.'
Lammers, 26, was snapped-up by Rangers from Atalanta in a £3.5million deal when Michael Beale was in charge.
But just seven months on, his Ibrox career looks like it could be coming to an end.
It's likely Lammers will depart Rangers this month on loan with current boss Philippe Clement keen to move him on.
A potential reunion with Beale at Sunderland had been speculated, but as exclusively revealed by SunSport, the Black Cats are NOT interested in signing him.

But one club who DO have an interest are Eredivisie outfit Utrecht.
That's according to a report from Dutch outlet AD who say he's being eyed on loan as they search for a new striker.
Utrecht have scored just 17 goals in their 16 league matches so far this season and are keen to sign forward reinforcements.
And the report claims that and boss Ron Jans reckon Lammers could be their "missing goalscorer."

That's despite the fact that since bagging 16 Eredivisie goals for Heerenveen in the 2018/19 season, Lammers' highest total of goals in a season since then has been TWO.
If Lammers was to join Utrecht, he'd link up with Celtic flop Vasilis Barkas.
The Greek goalkeeper endured a disastrous spell at Parkhead but enjoyed a massive upturn in form since initially moving to the Netherlands on loan last season.
He made a permanent switch last summer and is their No1 keeper.
Meanwhile, Gers kid Jamie Newton could be on his way to the English Premier League.
The 18-year old B team starlet has reportedly agreed a switch to Nottingham Forest.
Former Rangers sporting director Ross Wilson is, of course, now in charge of player recruitment at the City Ground.
