Mark Lawrenson makes Everton vs Aston Villa prediction
The latest Aston Villa news as the pundit has had his say on this weekend's Premier League fixture.
Pundit Mark Lawrenson believes that the availability of Dominic Calvert-Lewin for Everton will make the difference vs Aston Villa, with the Toffees backed to take all three points.
Villa go into the game at Goodison Park looking to build on a 3-2 win over Burnley in their last Premier League outing. That win moved Unai Emery’s side up to second in the Premier League table.
Both Villa and Everton were in FA Cup action last week. While Villa came out as 1-0 winners over Middlesbrough, Everton will need to replay to book their place in the fourth round of the competition.

The Toffees drew 0-0 with fellow Premier League side Crystal Palace in a game which included a controversial straight red card for striker Calvert-Lewin. The England man was sent off after a VAR review and was due to serve an automatic three-match ban, starting this weekend.
But, after Everton appealed, the decision has since been overturned by the FA, meaning that Calvert-Lewin is available to play vs Villa and in Everton’s next few games. The striker has scored three times so far this season in the league.
Lawrenson believes that the successful appeal by Everton will provide a boost which could see them take all three points at the weekend. If they do so, it will end a three-game losing run.
“Wolves beat Everton easily last time in the league. It’s good news that Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s suspension has been overturned, thank God someone with some common sense has looked at it,” he told PaddyPower. “I’m going to go for Everton to win, they’ll be buoyed by that decision and they’re tough to beat at home.”
Mark Lawrenson’s prediction Everton 2-1 Aston Villa.
