Everything we know about Sadio Mane's wife, 18, as Senegal begin AFCON campaign
Senegal kick off their defending AFCON campaign against The Gambia with the backdrop of Sadio Mane's wedding - and Daily Star Sport looks at everything we know about his bride
Senegal kick of their AFCON campaign on Monday afternoon - with Saudi Pro League star Sadio Mane set to take on a starring role.
Liverpool legend Mane, 31, hit the headlines in the week when he tied the knot with Aisha, 18, Tamba in a private ceremony. Initially, there were reports that Aisha was 26-years-old - but they were soon refuted by Aisha's dad.
Aisha's dad confirmed the pair had met over two years ago - in Senegal, the legal age of consent is 16 - and Mane had seen "something special" in his new bride. Mr Tamba said: "My wife and Aisha visited their [Mane's] family one day, and this is where he met her for the first time.

"He probably saw something special in her and his parents appreciated her as well. They came to see me. We discussed as per the tradition, agreed on everything and waited for this day to happen."
He added: "She is 18… It [the first time Mane saw her] was more than two years ago... With the values and all that she heard about him, she accepted voluntarily. But as parents we also guided and advised her to freely make up her mind. God did what's best for her."
The new Mrs Mane returned to school to a huge ovation after the marriage - and she broke her silence when speaking to the Daily Mail via a relative: "I am looking forward to my new life and I know that it will be very different.
"But I do not feel any pressure because Sadio’s fame and money will not change me. This is not what I’m interested in. I will remain a humble person committed to my faith.
"I'm not used to having so much attention on me because we are a very private family. We don’t like to show off and speak about our personal lives. I am a very down to earth person, this is how I was raised, and nothing will be different just because of this marriage.
"I’m very honoured to now be Mrs Mane."
Al Nassr forward Mane has yet to address his marriage publicly - instead opting to speak about AFCON. However, he does appear to be head over heels with his new wife, making her the background on his phone.
"Honestly, I am happy [with] the fact the president has congratulated me just as much as, well, I would say not just my team-mates," he said about being handed the captain's armband. "I think that all the people have congratulated me and wished me [luck] so I am happy and I hope that it'll be okay."
The ex-Bayern Munich star and Aisha will not be venturing on their honeymoon anytime soon - as Aisha has been made to return to school in preparation for her final exam.
Mane, who won the Premier League and Champions League during a glittering six-year spell at Anfield - also has a full schedule, as he looks to retain the AFCON with his Senegal team-mates, having scored the winning penalty when The Teranga Lions lifted the trophy for the first time in 2022.
