New Hibs signing Myziane Maolida branded 'lazy' as Hertha Berlin boss sparks civil war with savage exit interview

Pal Dardai didn't hold back in his assessment of the French winger although the player's agent hit back at a 'baseless attack.'

New Hibs signing Myziane Maolida didn't exactly get a positive send-off from Hertha Berlin after his previous boss branded him one of the laziest players he's ever seen.

The France Under 21 international will spend the second half of the season at Easter Road after becoming Nick Montgomery's first signing since taking the reins from Lee Johnson. But Hertha head coach Pal Dardai seems glad to see the back of the 24-year-old after questioning his effort levels before packing him off to the club's reserves after just three top team outings.

“He should get away from us as quickly as possible," he said in November. "He was given a lot of chances and was as lazy as very few players I have seen in my life. We are very fair with him. He scored goals because he was fit. We pay attention to him, I also know his stats, how much he runs in training and so on. But with me he wasted his chance."

But Maolida's agent hit back at the Hungarian, accusing him of a "baseless attack" on his client. And he was quick to remind everyone of the level his client had previously played at.

“I understand that Mr. Dárdai is offended that a player like Myziane, who he has not used since the beginning of the season and whom he dropped has played in international games at a high level and acted as a centre forward. Something that Mr. Dárdai, who works hard, never noticed.”
