Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana has been dropped for Cameroon’s crucial Africa Cup of Nations clash against Gambia on Tuesday.
Onana missed Cameroon’s Group C opener against Guinea last week after a delayed flight meant that he was late joining up with the squad.
The 27-year-old then started Cameroon’s second game in Group C but was criticised for his performance following a 3-1 defeat to reigning AFCON champions Senegal.
Cameroon head coach Rigobert Song refused to blame Onana for his sub-par display against Senegal but the United goalkeeper has now been benched for his nation’s final group game against Gambia.
Cameroon need a win against Gambia to stand any chance of qualifying for the knockout stage as one of the best third-placed teams in the tournament.
