Celtic ‘reject Liel Abada transfer offers’ as clubs in England, Germany and France circle for Israeli star

Three clubs in England alone are believed to be interested in taking the winger

CELTIC have rebuffed loan offers from a number of clubs for Israeli star Liel Abada, according to a report in his homeland.

The Hoops are understandably keen to keep hold of the international winger, who recently penned a new deal to take him through to the summer of 2027.

The Israeli's position has become a source of major speculation, after he held talks with the club's board after the Green Brigade sparked fury with a banner amid Hamas attacks on Israel.

The Hoops ultras unfurled a banner saying 'Victory to the Resistance' ahead of a match against Kilmarnock, hours after the militant group slaughtered hundreds of Israeli citizens.

He has since returned from a long-term injury but the Daily Mail today claims that English sides Watford, West Brom and Southampton are joined by clubs in France and Germany as those ready to test the water with a loan bid for the star.

A close associate of the player, as quoted in Israeli outlet Mako, said: "It's a very difficult time for Liel, whose great love for the State of Israel is known, Liel is a true patriot.

"Celtic only renewed his contract last September, so any decision regarding the loan or transfer is in their hands.

"And they see Liel as a very important player.

"He has offers from Germany, France and England, teams are ready to ask the player until the end of the season, but at the moment Celtic does not allow it.

"Liel really wants to return to the field, enjoy football and of course do what he knows best, which is to score goals.

"We estimate that a decision regarding his possible transfer already in the current winter window will be made in the coming days by the club."
