Ryan Kent throws out Rangers comfort blanket to end Fenerbahce transfer farce as Steven Gerrard trumped
The winger has endured a torrid spell in Turkey and looks set to be shipped out after just six months.

Former Rangers winger Ryan Kent is set to snub former Ibrox boss Steven Gerrard - with a loan move to Dinamo Zagreb inching closer.
Reports in Turkey had claimed that Kent was set to reunited with the Scottish Premiership title-winning boss and former Ibrox director of football Mark Allen at Al-Ettifaq having endured a nightmare spell at Fenerbahce since leaving Govan as a free agent last summer. Gerrard was said to have stolen a march on the rivals for deal with Ettifaq stumping up the cash to take Kent and the Istanbul outfit accepting a fee in the region of £3.4million.
However, the winger would have to green light a deal - and he now looks to sensationally knock back the bumper offer in the Middle East in favour of a switch to Croatia. NTV Sport report that a loan move to take the 27-year-old to the 1. HNL this month is in the final stages - with boss Sergej Jakirovic openly discussing the prospect of an imminent arrival.
Asked about Kent before the clash with NK Lokomotiva, he said: "We are in talks with Fenerbahçe for the transfer of Ryan Kent. Kent is a European-level player. We will see whether we can make the transfer."
Kent cost Rangers an initial £6.5m to make his signing permanent in 2019 having been brought to the Scottish Premiership by Gerrard in 2019. Former Ibrox director of football Allen - who spent two years in Govan from 2017 - led the recruitment under the boss before leaving for Swansea City in 2019 and has now joined him in the Middle East.
However, Kent appears determined to kickstart without the safety net from his days at Ibrox. Reports had suggested that a return to Gers or a move to he English Premier League were on the cards - but Zagreb appear to have won the race for a deal.
