Barry Robson calls out Aberdeen FC culprits in dressing room inquest as seething fans urge him to 'get to f***'
Robson's Dons were swept aside by Hearts and they now have a massive fight on their hands just to make the top six.
Beleaguered Barry Robson got it from BOTH sets of fans at Tynecastle - but the frustrated boss wants his players to take responsibility for failing to handle the heat.
The Aberdeen boss was visibly frustrated on the touchline as his dreary side fell to a 2-0 defeat through Jorge Grant's penalty and a brilliant Lawrence Shankland goal. It leaves the Dons in eighth place - NINETEEN points off Hearts in third- and fans were heard chanting 'Robson, get to f***.' Even the home support at Tynecastle got in on the act and 'sacked in the morning' was heard echoing from the Gorgie faithful.
The pressure is now ramping up on Robson and he was asked to address the vocal fan fury that saw the travelling fans at Tynecastle call for his head. That rage has spilled onto social media too with the comments on Aberdeen's socials awash with punters calling for his head.
When asked about the fan backlash, Robson said: "When you're at a club like Aberdeen, you expect pressure. That's what it's like to be at a club with big expectations. It's a one city club, that's what happens. It's continuous, you've got to keep being successful. The players have performed well for a large spell of that game, but it's got to be for the whole 95 minutes."
Robson reckons his side played well for spells and was left frustrated with two decisions by referee Kevin Clancy and Alan Muir in the VAR room - one to disallow Bojan Miovski's first half opener and the other to award Hearts their penalty for handball against Nicky Devlin.
A disgruntled Robson said: "The first half I thought we played well. We scored a really good goal and for whatever reason, it was ruled out and another decision went against us.
"Second half we came out, still 0-0 and in the first 10 or 15 minutes, we were attacking and playing well. Then you get the penalty against you. We can't coach that. He's tried to pull his hand back in, it's hit his hand... But the bit I'm angry about is us as a team after that.
"You need to be better than that. You go a goal down, you've got to be better. That happens in games. It doesn't matter if you perform well, if you go a goal down, you see out the next five minutes. Hearts weren't really threatening before that but it gave them and their fans a lift.
"That's when you've got to be strong as a team, make sure you perform and get a goal back. We didn't do that and that's what I said to the players. I take a bit of the blame myself, I went 4-2-4 to try and attack and get a goal. But that's my anger, how we responded as a team."
Asked about the Miovski no-goal in particular, Robson said: "I think it's pretty clear. Am I allowed to comment on that? There's a lot of decisions (that go against us). I'm not going to stand here and make excuses. For me, it's a goal. But I can't use excuses, I need to find answers to go and win the next game."
