Killian Phillips seals Aberdeen FC transfer as Barry Robson offers inside track on Crystal Palace deal

The 21-year-old Ireland youth cap will spend the remainder of the campaign in the Scottish Premiership.

Aberdeen have moved to snap up Crystal Palace prospect Killian Phillips on loan until the end of the campaign.

The 21-year-old midfielder makes the move to the Scottish Premiership from the English Premier League side having racked up 30 appearances for Wycombe in League One so far this term. The Republic of Ireland U21 cap enjoyed a successful loan spell at Shrewsbury Town last term and was named the Young Player of the Season at the club - and will now look to help Aberdeen kickstart their campaign and push for third spot.

Following the signing, Barry Robson admitted it is a deal he has been chasing for a long time. Record Sport understands that the Dons first made an approach in the summer before the Palace kid opted for a move to the English lower leagues. Robson said: "I’m pleased to bring Killian to the club as he’s a player we’ve admired for some time He’s energetic, hardworking and his strength of character is matched by his technical ability.

“He’s proven this season already that he’s capable given the number of games he has amassed. He’s put in some big performances, including a man of the match display, scoring for Ireland U21’s against Italy. He’s very good in both boxes and will add a real versatility to our midfield options. He has the right mentality to fit into our squad and we look forward to working with him in the second half of the season.”
