Oscar Cortes on Rangers transfer brink as Lens winger ‘travelling’ to Glasgow after loan with option to buy AGREED

Reports in South America say the Colombian is on the verge of a move to Ibrox and will become Philippe Clement's third signing of the January window.

Lens winger Oscar Cortes is on his way to Rangers as Philippe Clement is on the brink of landing his third January signing, according to a report.

Fabio Silva was the first arrival of the winter window when he joined on loan from Wolves and Mohamed Diomande followed him when he signed from Danish side FC Nordsjaelland last week. And now reports in South America claim an agreement has been reached to sign Cortes from French Ligue 1 outfit Lens - a 20-year-old right winger.

The Colombian joined the Ligue 1 side in the summer from Milllonarios in his homeland and he has made his international name at youth level. There will be an option to buy according to the claims and Cortes is already said to be en route to Glasgow so he can "formalise the relationship." Cortes has primarily played as a right winger but he can also play on the opposite side and as a number 10. The last Colombian to have played for Rangers was Alfredo Morelos and the 20-year-old would hope for similar success.

It might not be the last bit of business Clement approves this month either. Left-back Jefte could arrive from Brazillian side Fluminense.
