Manchester United winger Facundo Pellistri's protracted loan move to Granada is back on ahead of Thursday's transfer deadline.

Pellistri was concerned last week that he would remain at United for the remainder of the season as progress on a move to the 19th-placed La Liga side had stalled.

The 22-year-old did not come off the bench during United's FA Cup fourth round win at Newport County, where rookie winger Omari Forson emerged ahead of Pellistri.

Pellistri is one of only six United forwards available to manager Erik ten Hag in the front three positions as Anthony Martial has been ruled out until April after groin surgery.

Ten Hag has favoured Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford as the wingers to support striker Rasmus Hojlund in recent weeks. Antony scored his first goal since April at Newport and Amad made his first appearance for the club in more than two years against Nottingham Forest on December 30.

Pellistri has not started for United since September and he has already spent two loan spells in Spain with Alaves. He was planning to head out on loan again in the summer but injury to Amad during pre-season scuppered a move.

The possible departure of Pellistri could have a bearing on the future of Forson. The 18-year-old has explored the possibility of a permanent transfer this month.

United plan to keep Amad beyond the closure of the winter transfer window after he recovered from a five-month lay-off with a knee injury.

United signed Pellistri from Penarol in a £9million deal on deadline day in October 2020 and he has played 24 times for the club.
