Jay Bothroyd makes it clear that he would happily sell Arsenal 22-year-old for £100 million

Arsenal may have shot themselves in the foot in the Premier League title race last season after they crumbled towards the end.

But what shouldn’t be forgotten about is some of the performances from the top brass in the team and those who produced the best performances of their career.

There is no doubt that Gabriel Martinelli was one of them, as he scored 15 Premier League goals and supplied five assists from 36 Premier League games for Arsenal

That would have skyrocketed his reputation, with former Arsenal player Jay Bothroyd recently being asked on Twitter if he would sell the all-action winger for ‘£100 million’.

He didn’t hesitate and made it clear that, if that option came about, then Gabriel Martinelli is ‘sold’.

Arsenal signed the 22-year-old back in 2019 from Brazil’s lower leagues for a transfer fee in the region of just £6 million.

Whilst those in the Emirates boardroom wouldn’t want to part ways with him anytime soon, if they ever did sell him, then they would make a serious profit.

Before the winter break, the performances or that bite in Martinelli’s game was missing. He was lacking in the final third.

Yes, those around him had also dropped off, but he was probably top of the list, with only two league goals from 18 games.

But that brace from the bench against Crystal Palace has done him the world of good and now added to his previously faltering tally.

And the Arsenal fans will be hoping it can also help boost his performances during the second half of the campaign because his team are going to need it.
