Sergio Reguilon has brilliant response to Michael Owen's 'lookalike' son

On his 18th birthday, Michael Owen's son has been gifted with comparisons to the former Manchester United full-back, and the current Brentford defender has had his say too

A post made on social media by ex-England man Michael Owen has people seeing double.

At 18, a young Owen was starring for England and scored that iconic World Cup goal for England against Argentina. And now his son has reached that landmark age.


In honour of his son's special day, the former Liverpool man took to social media with a picture. And he ended up catching the attention of Brentford full-back Sergio Reguilon.

What better birthday present is there then being compared to a Premier League left-back?

In the post on X, Owen wished his son a happy birthday by saying: "Welcome to adulthood, son. I’m incredibly proud of the man you’ve become." James is one of Owen's four children, and brother to Love Island's Gemma.

It turns out the teenager has a Premier League lookalike, as he's the spitting image of Reguilon, who saw the post and had his say. He simply replied: "Dad?"

Fans loved the Spaniard's witty response with one exclaiming: "The resemblance though". And another added: "This is such an elite reply!"

Reguilon did suit up for Manchester United earlier in this campaign, one of Owen's former clubs. But he was recalled by parent club Spurs and shipped back out to Brentford for the remainder of the season.

He'll be hoping to channel some of Michael Owen's brilliance as he looks to become a regular starter in west London. He made his full debut in their 3-1 defeat to Manchester City.
