DARLINGTON are appealing for witnesses following an allegation of racist abuse during Quakers' home defeat to Alfreton on Saturday.
The alleged incident occurred at the start of the second half and Darlington have now launched an official investigation.
A statement released by the club on Saturday evening said: "An allegation of racist abuse has been made following an incident at the start of the second half and the club has started an investigation.
"If you were a witness to this incident, then please e mail the club with your observations on report@darlingtonfc.org."
On the pitch, Darlington's woes continued on Saturday as Steve Watson's side went down 2-0, with both goals coming in the second half.
The visitors opened the scoring from the spot two minutes after the restart before securing the victory in stoppage time.
The defeat leaves Quakers second bottom and nine points adrift of National League North safety with 15 games to play.
