Ryan Reynolds' reaction to Wrexham's fourth loss on the trot winds fans up even more
Ryan Reynolds' Wrexham suffered another defeat after conceding late on at home to Bradford City, resulting in their fourth consecutive loss as fans took aim at the Hollywood co-owner
Ryan Reynolds’ optimistic reaction after Wrexham’s fourth defeat on the trot did not go down well with their fans.
A 1-0 loss at home to Bradford City in League Two on Saturday came after the visitors' Andy Cook had a penalty saved by Arthur Okonkwo in the 83rd minute. But the Bradford man made amends by winning the game in stoppage time.
For Wrexham, it was another dismal defeat, having been beaten by Salford City, Blackburn and Newport County over the past few weeks. But despite their promotion hopes suffering a huge blow, co-owner and Hollywood actor Reynolds offered a bizarrely sportsmanlike response post-match.

The Deadpool actor took to X on Saturday afternoon to commend the opposite team, despite a fierce game in which Bradford committed 19 fouls. Reynolds tweeted: “The entire Bradford City squad played with so much heart today. Congrats.”
And he was immediately met with a swarm of disgruntled Wrexham supporters who took issue with how nice he was being given the circumstances. “No mate... that’s not how we do it,” one bluntly replied.
Another tweeted: “You can't post this after 4 losses, sorry but it needs sorting,” while a third wrote: “This is so American mentality.”
A fourth jibed: “You don't get football do you,” and a fifth bemused fan wrote: “Stop being so nice!"
Others chimed in with: “Best get on that phone with Rob [McElhenney] and have a word 4 straight losses, if we lose on Tuesday there needs to be some grown up conversations had,” and: “Ryan, it's 3 years in. I love you but this isn't how we handle defeat here.”
Reynolds and fellow A-list actor McElhenney took over Wrexham in 2021 before guiding the club to an emphatic promotion to the English Football League last season after a 15-year absence. They are currently fifth in League Two, trailing the league leaders by nine points as they look to secure back-to-back promotions.
