Ryan Kent filleted by ex Rangers hero after Fenerbahce return

Former Gers midfielder and Turkish legend Tugay Kerimoglu was far from impressed with Kent's comeback.

Tugay Kerimoglu slaughtered fellow former Rangers man Ryan Kent after the ex Ibrox winger was handed his first appearance for Fenerbahce for three months.

Kent's move to Turkey has been a disaster and the Istanbul club desperately tried to offload him in the last transfer window, only for the former Liverpool player to reject all offers to move. Fenerbahce then reportedly refused to pay him his salary until Kent threatened to take the matter to FIFA.

Kent still has over three years left of his deal. His only goal for the club in his 16 appearances came in his very first game against FC Zimbru in the Europa Conference League. He last played a league game at the start of November and has been in cold storage since, but was surprisingly named as a sub in their match against Alanyaspor. He was sent on by manager Ismail Kartal with five minutes to go for veteran striker and captain Edin Dzeko to try and help them win the game, but the match ended in a 2-2 draw.

And Tugay, who had an 18-month period at Rangers and was capped 94 times by his country, wasn't impressed with the substitution. The TV pundit said: "When you are trying to win a game, you don't take off your main striker and replace him with a guy who doesn't want to be there and who you are actively trying to sell.

"Ryan Kent has done very little for Fenerbahce. I have no idea why they thought it was a good idea to put him back in the squad suddenly after so long out."
