Chelsea legend Petr Cech boldly predicts when club will next challenge for Prem title
Mauricio Pochettino has struggled to find consistency with his youthful Chelsea squad - but one club legend has faith he'll turn things around in the not too distant future
Chelsea legend Petr Cech reckons they could compete for the Premier League title in two seasons' time.
The Blues haven't lifted the trophy since 2017 and look way off ending their wait under Mauricio Pochettino currently. Having finished 12th last season, they find themselves in mid-table once again.
However, Cech believes his former club could be back to battling at the top the season after next if Pochettino can start taking them in the right direction for the remainder of the current campaign.

Sky Sports is bringing you 500 live football games to watch, as well access to Cricket, Golf, F1, Boxing, NFL, NBA and more across eight dedicated channels. Sky Sports is the only way to watch all the action this year.
Appearing on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football, he said: "If we speak about the league title, obviously this season is not going in the way that we all wished for.
"I think if they can have a really strong end to the season and build up for the next season, maybe that is the season where Chelsea can climb up the table and challenge for the top four.
"Then, probably the season after, that is the first realistic year I think that Chelsea would be able to challenge for the title."

Cech noted the major changes which have been made at Stamford Bridge since he left his role as a technical and performance advisor in June 2022 upon the arrival of Todd Boehly and his consortium.
Boehly overhauled both the boardroom and the squad, spending more than £1billion on transfers and loan fees since then. The American is also on to his third permanent manager.
"That takes patience and it includes the players, it includes everyone working for the football club so these things normally take time," added Cech.
"It is challenging for everybody when you have a lot of changes and I think some of the players came to the club with huge expectations with a lot of money being spent on them which creates even more pressure.
"When the results are not there, this squad is really young and I think they find it hard to live up to those expectations."
He also feels Pochettino is missing a spine in his team, continuing: "The coaches have not found the right formula yet to find the core that would stabilise the team and then you will fill in players depending on tactics and what form they are in."
