Petr Cech has claimed Chelsea lack a spine and Mauricio Pochettino and his coaching staff are yet to find the right formula.
The Blues are currently enduring a woful season and sit 10th in the Premier League table after 10 defeats in 24 matches.
It comes after they finished 12th last term in the first season after Todd Boehly's takeover of the club in June 2023.
Former goalkeeper Cech believes Chelsea are suffering from not having a settled starting XI.
Speaking on Sky Sports, he said: 'There's obviously potential there but do you see the characteristics of a team with perhaps a spine that the club can build around?

The former goalkeeper also believes Chelsea are suffering from not having a settled XI
'Yeah, I think you know, we look at the game so the past month you don't really see the spine you don't really see the core of the team you know the goalkeepers been changing the defenders been changing the midfield is changing the attacking players sometimes the formation is changing.
'So you know that's that's shows that there is a lot of talent a lot of potential but the coaches haven't found the right formula yet to keep you know to find the core that would stabilise the team and then you know fill in players in and out depending on what tactics what what form they are. '
Cech believes Chelsea can set their sights on challenging for a top-four finish if they end this season strongly.
He added: 'Well if you speak about the league title, obviously this season is not going the way they all wished for. And I think if they can have a really strong end of the season and build up for the next season.
'Maybe that's the season where Chelsea can climb up the table challenge for the top four. And then the season after probably in those the first realistic year I think is to for Chelsea to challenge for the title. '
Cech stood down from his role as Chelsea's technical and performance advisor in June 2022 following Boehly's takeover.
