The Championship match between Swansea City and Leeds United was paused on Tuesday night as supporters and players paid tribute to Swans fan Chris Brown.

News emerged over the weekend that Chris, aged 29, had passed away. The avid member of the Jack Army was a popular person among the Swansea support base.

A number of fans and first-team players have already donated money to help pay for his funeral and ahead of the match Swansea encouraged supporters to show their respect with a minute's applause in the 29th minute of tonight's game.

And, when the clocked ticked over to the dedicated, the whole stadium stopped to applaud, including players on the pitch such as Jamie Paterson, Jay Fulton and Carl Rushworth as well former Swans striker Joel Piroe.

A picture was shown of Chris on the screens inside the stadium, too, with the message "Once a Jack, always a Jack" accompanying it.

A Swansea City statement issued yesterday read: "Everyone at Swansea City is saddened to learn of the passing of supporter Chris Brown. Our thoughts are with Chris' family and friends at this sad time.

"In memory of Chris, we encourage supporters to join in a minute's applause during the 29th minute of tomorrow's match."

A GoFundMe page has since been set up to raise money for Chris' family and "give him the send off he truly deserves".
