Football 'draught excluder' backfires spectacularly and costs Braga Europa League goal
Qarabag will be thanking their lucky stars when they nudged ahead of Braga in the Europa League on Thursday evening thanks to Braga's 'draught excluder' playing them onside
Portuguese side Braga were left red-faced after their 'draft excluder' led directly to Qarabag's Europa League goal.
Qarabag, who are from a disputed region of Azerbaijan, produced a shocking win against the Portuguese side on Thursday night. Abdellah Zoubir notched Qarabag's second of the game from a free-kick, which was initially ruled as offside from the on-field officials.
However, after a VAR review, it emerged the 'draught excluder', the position taken up by a player lying behind the wall, had played him onside. And football fans are praying it means the end of the 'draught excluder' in proffesional football.

"Hopefully teams will stop doing it now cos it is one of the most ridiculous things that has ever come into the game," one fan tweeted. While a second said: "Superb. Get that absolute nonsense in the bin!"
"The draught excluder playing Qarabag all onside. Classic," a third joked. And another added: "Hilarious that in Braga game v Qarabag the goal stood because the guy lying down behind the wall kept the striker onside. Good! It’s stupid!"

Zoubir doubled his tally for the evening shortly afterwards, making the game 4-1 - seemingly put the clash beyond any doubt. However, Braga were handed a lifeline when veteran Joao Moutinho cut the deficit from the spot in the 91st minute.
Braga now have the make the 3,500 mile journey to the Azerbaijani capital, Baku, later this month, hoping to overturn the two-goal deficit.
