Man Utd loanee Donny van de Beek subbed on and then off again during Bundesliga game
Donny van de Beek has endured a torrid few years since leaving Ajax and his loan spell at Eintracht Frankfurt has not gone to plan so far with the Dutchman being subbed on and then off again
Manchester United loanee Donny van de Beek faced an awkward moment when he was substituted on and then off again during a match.
The situation occurred in Eintracht Frankfurt's 1-1 draw with VfL Bochum as the Dutch midfielder replaced the injured Hugo Larsson after 21 minutes into the game on Saturday.
But, unlike most substitutes, he didn't finish the match as Frankfurt decided to swap him for Sebastian Rode with just six minutes of normal time left, the Manchester Evening News reports.

Frankfurt's boss Dino Toppmoller confirmed after the match that the substitution wasn't because of an injury or Van de Beek's performance. He told Liga Insider: "Unfortunately, I had to replace Donny again."
He added: "This is because we knew he wouldn't be able to keep up the power for 70 minutes." This incident marks another setback for Van de Beek, who has had a tough few years.
When Van de Beek left Erik ten Hag's Ajax, he was highly rated. However, despite changes in management and system, the 26-year-old has struggled to secure a place in the first team.

During his four years at Old Trafford, Van de Beek only made 62 appearances before being loaned out by Ten Hag in January. It's expected that Van de Beek will leave United for good in the summer as he tries to get his career back on track.
However, his journey to regain his form hasn't kicked off well. Since his move in the winter, he's only played four times and hasn't made a big impact. Frankfurt decided not to include Van de Beek in their recent Europa Conference League squad list.
The 26-year-old opened up about the difficult of being left out in the cold in Manchester as he said: "If you don’t play as many games as you want, it’s tough, but that’s the past now, "Van de Beek said in an interview with the media in Germany.
"I’m [with Eintracht now] now and I’m positive, which is the most important thing and then things can change. I’m looking forward now."
Despite his experience in the Premier League not going as he expected, he named one positive from his time at Man United, as he added: "I think it helps when you play with players [at United] who have achieved a lot and have experience. You see them in training every day, which helps develop you and I’ll try to bring that here as well to help the team".
