Mesut Ozil, the former Arsenal star and World Cup winner, has been showing off a new muscular look since retiring from football in 2023.

The ex-Real Madrid player, who was never known for being one of football's heavyweights, has been working hard to bulk up. Some fans think his recent posts suggest he might be planning a return to football. While that seems unlikely, it's clear that Ozil is getting in shape for whatever comes next.

In a workout video on Instagram, Ozil can be seen doing tough exercises like pushing a sled stacked with weights and hurling battle ropes. The caption reads, "Always stay ready, then you don't need to get ready," along with an hourglass emoji. Fans and former teammates have been cheering him on in the comments section.

Antonio Rudiger, Ozil's former international teammate and ex-Chelsea defender now at Real, commented: "Beast." Ex-rival Rio Ferdinand also praised Ozil, saying: "Looking strong bro."

One fan commented, "Bro doesn't need protection from [Sead] Kolasinac anymore," talking about the time in 2019 when they were attacked in their car and Kolasinac fought off the would-be attackers.

Now, it looks like Ozil might be the one who has to do the defending.
