Lampard could not believe Man City 'rumour' about David Silva that turned out to be true

Frank Lampard couldn't believe a rumour he heard about David Silva loving a night out - that was until he joined the Spaniard at Manchester City and saw it for himself

Frank Lampard had to see it to believe it when he heard David Silva loved a night out.

Lampard spent one season at Manchester City during the 14/15 campaign, when he joined a star-studded squad that featured Sergio Aguero, Vincent Kompany and Silva. And after arriving in the blue half of Manchester, Lampard was told about Silva's love for a boogie.

Speaking to City's in-house media, Lampard joked he couldn't believe the rumour, until it turned out to be true. He said: "He liked a night out with the lads too. I’d heard a rumour about this before I joined.

"But I thought ‘no chance!’ We had a couple of nights where he was there on the beers. He’d be there until the end of the night. He was very friendly, very nice, enjoying himself, a lovely guy."

Lampard added: "David was quiet around the place but what an incredible player. I noticed it first in training and he was of the highest, highest level. He was right up there. But his humility as a lad made him even more special to me because he had zero ego.
