Aston Villa will be determined to build upon their win over Fulham when they face Nottingham Forest this weekend. Unai Emery was delighted with his side's performance at Craven Cottage despite injury crisis which has hit Bodymoor Heath.

"I am very happy," said the Spaniard on Saturday afternoon. "We prepared the game plan with the players focusing and thinking after we lost at home in the last match, the reaction was important. As well, thinking it is difficult to win here.

"They are a very organised team and tactically it is hard to stop them, but we did a fantastic job. We reacted very well, we were very focused and we struggled a little bit in some moments, but we controlled the game. We created chances and we were clinical. Then, even when they had chances to draw, we deserved it."

Villa have now turned their attention to what is poised to be a fiery tie with Nottingham Forest on Saturday – even if their preparations may be fogged by numerous absentees. So, with that being said, BirminghamLive has taken a look at all the latest injury news and updates from the treatment room which Emery must juggle.

Boubacar Kamara

Kamara suffered a suspected anterior cruciate ligament rupture in the 2-1 defeat to Manchester United.

What Emery has said: "When you are injured for a long time, it is the worst thing in football. We have had two players in Tyrone Mings and Emi Buendia injured for all the season and now it is the same with Kamara. It is an ACL and it will be maybe September or October before he comes back."

Possible return date: Next season.

Tyrone Mings

Mings hasn't featured for Villa since suffering a hasty knee injury on the opening weekend of the Premier League season. The 30-year-old defender was stretched off after half an hour against Newcastle United, tearing his ACL.

What Emery has said: "Always they are in our minds. They support us every day at the training ground. Hopefully they can come back to train with us by the end of the season. We will try to start next season with them being completely fine to come back playing like they were."

Possible return date: Next season.

Emi Buendia

Buendia ruptured his ACL towards the end of a training session at Bodymoor Heath back in August as Villa geared up for their trip to St James' Park. Like Mings, the midfielder is also expected to be out for the remainder of the season.

What Emery has said: "Always they are in our minds. They support us every day at the training ground. Hopefully they can come back to train with us by the end of the season. We will try to start next season with them being completely fine to come back playing like they were."

Possible return date: Next season.

Diego Carlos

Carlos is currently cursing a hamstring injury which he suffered during training ahead of Villa's clash against Fulham at Craven Cottage. Emery has confirmed that the defender will be sidelined for the next three to four weeks.

Possible return date: March.

Ezri Konsa

Konsa suffered a knee sprain when he collided with a post in Villa's win over Sheffield United at the start of the month.

What Emery has said: "He has a knee sprain, and he will not be available. I don’t know, three or four weeks more or less."

Possible return date: March.

Jhon Duran

Jhon Duran is currently nursing a hamstring injury. The striker, who was heavily linked with a move to Chelsea in January, suffered the setback late on in Villa's clash with Everton at Goodison Park, ruling out any prospect of a switch to Stamford Bridge.

What Emery has said: "Jhon Duran is now injured, but I am happy with him. The last action against Everton he was injured. For the next weeks he is not going to be available."

Possible return date: March.
