Gary Neville has sent out a heartfelt apology to pop megastar Harry Styles after he mistook the Manchester United fan for the son of a Luton Town director ahead of the Hatter's 2-1 loss to the Red Devils.
The 'As It Was' singer popped into the Sky Sports studio before kick-off on Sunday, meeting the likes of Jamie Redknapp, Tom Lockyer and Neville.
But Styles' unfamiliar wardrobe choice appeared to render him unrecognisable to the United legend, who admitted he was unaware who the 30-year-old was.
Neville offered a grovelling apology after the clash, explaining his confusion and claiming the error would make his daughters 'mortified'.
'I've got to get into the studio and try to resurrect the fact that I didn't recognise Harry Styles before the game.' He said post-match.

'He dressed so smartly. He walked in the Luton Town owners and I thought he was actually one of the director's sons.'
Neville added on whether he thought the popstar recognised him: 'No. He's a United fan so he may have done by oh god, I'm totally embarrassed and shocked.
'My two girls would be horrified, mortified with me. I'm really sorry Harry, I really am.'
The 30-year-old would have left Kenilworth Road in high spirits after seeing his team run out 2-1 victors against Rob Edward's side.
In-form Rasmus Hojlund bagged a brace inside seven minutes before the home side grabbed a goal back through Carlton Morris shortly after.
Erik ten Hag's side secured their four Premier League win on the bounce that saw them move to within three points of Tottenham in fifth and just five behind Aston Villa in fourth.
