Michael Stewart has saluted FOUR Celtic stars that had a major impact at Motherwell and the one player who could help the Hoops get back in and put pressure on Rangers.

Brendan Rodgers and his troops left it late as they blasted home twice in injury-time to secure a 3-1 win at Fir Park. The Hoops went into the game playing catch-up on Philippe Clement's side after their 5-0 win over Hearts opened up a five point gap. As the clock hit 90 minutes in Lanarkshire it looked like the champions would drop points once again in the Scottish Premiership but Adam Idah's second goal of the game sparked wild scenes before Luis Palma made sure of the points with another goal moments later.

The travelling support were boosted by the return of Cameron Carter-Vickers off the bench with his return branded 'huge' by the Sportscene pundit. He also highlighted the positives from Callum McGregor, Yang and double goal hero Idah. A return to fitness as soon as possible for Reo Hatate is another one that would offer further encouragement for the Parkhead side as they battle for the league crown continues to twist and turn with 11 games to play. Rangers hold top spot as it stands and while Stewart reckons they remain favourites, three key reasons have the pundit insisting that Celtic can't be written off.

He told BBC Sportscene: "The third goal is the icing on the cake but to a certain extent it is irrelevant. The second goal was the huge goal. Near the end of the game it felt like it was going to slip away from them but that goes in and you are then able to accentuate the positives.

"[Cameron] Carter-Vickers is back. That is huge. When he came on you noticed Theo Bair dropped out of the game. He wasn't as effective as he was early on in the game. [Callum] McGregor was better today. When you look at the likes of Yang in the wide area. Not to say he was the answer, but he was giving a bit of penetration there and [Adam] Idah of course a massive positive.

"All of a sudden you start to see the semblance of recovery and if [Reo] Hatate gets back into that team quick enough as well you can potentially see a route for Celtic to get back in and apply some pressure on Rangers at the top of that table."

On the title battle, he added: "I still do feel they [Rangers] are slight favourites. The momentum is with them but having seen that today with a bit of fight and desire and some players coming back, I wouldn't write Celtic off."
