Fit-again Kemar Roofe was back on the goal trail on Monday as he stepped up his Rangers recovery bid.

The injury-plagued striker returned to training last week and was named among the subs for Saturday's Premiership clash against Hearts. Philippe Clement admitted that he was only fit enough for a brief cameo, which he was able to grant him with the frontman getting the last 11 minutes as Rangers humbled Hearts in a 5-0 rout, netting four of their goals before the hour mark.

With Danilo still missing, Clement needs more bodies back in attack as he plots a title charge after hitting top spot, as well as a massive Europa League last 16 encounter with Portuguese cracks Benfica. To that end, Roofe was handed a start as Rangers B took on Dundee. And it took Roofe just four minutes to get off the mark, powering home a header to give the Light Blues the lead at the Rangers Training Centre.

The Dee hit back before quarter of an hour was up, but it took Rangers just a minute to reestablish their lead. Paul Nsio fired home after the ball fell kindly for him in the area. However, an own goal then drew the visitors level again and they edged in front with a third just before the break.

And that was it as far as Roofe was concerned. The plan was always to take him off after 45 minutes with the top team back in action away at Kilmarnock on Wednesday night.
