Roy Hodgson 'wants football return' despite health scare – and could go abroad aged 76
He is one of the most experienced football managers of all time, but 76-year-old Roy Hodgson may not be finished in the beautiful game just yet
Roy Hodgson is interested in a return to football despite collapsing at the Crystal Palace training ground.
The former England manager resigned from his role at Selhurst Park shortly after he was rushed to hospital. On February 15, Hodgson was set to appear before the media at his usual press conference, but was forced to pull out 35 minutes before due to falling ill at the training ground.
He would go on to resign from his position at Selhurst Park a week later, opening the door for former Eintracht Frankfurt boss Oliver Glasner to take over the reins. Despite his recent health scare, Hodgson is not yet ready to walk away from football.

According to The Sun, Hodgson is interested in coming back into football in an off-field capacity. It's understood a return to management is unlikely, but a consultancy role would be an intriguing prospect.
Moreover, insider sources also claim Hodgson would be willing to go abroad if an opportunity arose. He already has plenty of experience working in Italy and Sweden having previously managed Inter Milan and Malmo amongst others.

Before his medical scare, Hodgson was still making executive decisions on Palace's team. Before the Eagles' recent 1-1 draw against Everton, he instructed Sam Johnstone to be brought back in between the sticks while also swapping Odsonne Edouard for Matheus Franca.
However, he is in no such control now as Glasner's feet are firmly under the desk in South London. Nevertheless, the Europa League winner admitted he would like to find time to bounce ideas off Hodgson. “We thought we had this time because the owner’s plan for the club was to end the season with Roy," Glasner said in his first press conference.
"He is a fantastic manager who I got to know when he was England national team coach and I was in my first year as a coach in Ried. He came to Vienna to talk to us and is a great personality and a fantastic manager who I have a lot of respect for. I hope that I can talk to him, because I can also learn a lot from his experience.”
Glasner's reign kicked off with a 3-0 home victory over Burnley which helped Palace move eight points clear of the relegation zone.
