Aston Villa boss Unai Emery delivers Jacob Ramsey injury update
Aston Villa news from BirminghamLive as Unai Emery gives an update on Jacob Ramsey ahead of Europa Conference League clash with Ajax
Unai Emery has given a positive injury update on Jacob Ramsey, but the midfielder has been ruled out of the first leg of Aston Villa's Europa Conference League round of 16 tie against Ajax.
The midfielder hobbled off in Villa's 3-2 win at Luton Town last weekend after appearing to injure his foot. After trying to carry on at first, Ramsey was shortly taken off in the 29th minute for Morgan Rogers.
“He’s not available for tomorrow," Emery said. "He is not with a big injury, but we have to wait every day how he is progressing to be available for the next match on Sunday. The good news is it is not an important injury.”

Ramsey broke a metatarsal in his foot while playing for England at the European Championships last summer and returned in September. But after scoring in the 6-1 win over Brighton at Villa Park, Ramsey suffered a reoccurrence of the injury.
He came off the bench in only two of Villa's first 12 league games before returning for a second time in the crucial victory over Tottenham in north London. Since the end of November, Ramsey has started nine of the club's last 15 league games.
The 22-year-old has shown signs that he is ready to play an important role in Villa's quest to secure Champions League football. He had rediscovered his fitness and confidence in recent weeks, making his latest injury blow at Kenilworth Road bitterly frustrating.
