‘Favourites’… Alan Pardew predicts who will finish fourth – Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa or Manchester United

Unai Emery’s Aston Villa, Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur and Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United are the three teams left in the race for the fourth spot in the Premier League table, and Alan Pardew has picked his favourite.

Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United all were in action in the Premier League this past weekend.

Erik ten Hag’s United beat Everton 2-0 at Old Trafford on Saturday. Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford scored the goals, and both came from the penalty spot. Alejandro Garnacho won both the spot kicks and had a superb game.

On Sunday, Tottenham beat Villa 4-0 at Villa Park. John McGinn was sent off for the home team in the 65th minute.

Unai Emery’s Villa are now fourth in the Premier League table with 55 points from 28 matches. Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham are fifth with 53 points, but they have played 27 games.

United have played 28 games and have picked up 47 points. Although former Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew thinks that the Red Devils are still in the race for the fourth spot in the Premier League table, he has picked Tottenham as the favourites.

Alan Pardew gives verdict on Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa and Manchester United

Pardew said on talkSPORT (7:25 pm, March 10, 2024): “You have got Newcastle falling away, Chelsea have fallen away, Man United are still, I was there yesterday.

“They are a strange team, you know. They look vulnerable, yet they have such quality at the top of the pitch. They are still in with a shout, and you have got the Villa.

“So, you look at it, and I would put Tottenham favourites at the moment, not just because of today’s win, but because of what you have done this season. You have been excellent. You have only lost six games. You are looking good for it.”

My View: Tottenham Hotspur are favourites for the fourth spot

In my opinion, Tottenham Hotspur are the favourites to end up fourth ahead of the Aston Villa and Manchester United.

I do not think that United are in the race anymore. For the Red Devils to get the fourth spot, they will have to win their matches and also hope that both Villa and Tottenham collapse.

It is hard to see both the Villans and Spurs struggling for points in the final weeks of the season.

Tottenham have been very consistent this campaign and also have a game in hand over Villa and United. I am backing Spurs to clinch the fourth spot and get back into the UEFA Champions League.
