Harvey Barnes hit by new injury blow as Eddie Howe leaves Newcastle star at home
Newcastle United forward Harvey Barnes has suffered a slight hamstring injury with Eddie Howe hopeful the problem is not serious.
Barnes is believed to have suffered the injury blow in during his cameo in the 3-0 win against Wolverhampton Wanderers last weekend. And it was enough to ruled him out of this evening's encounter at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League with the player now back in the treatment room.
A short United statement read: "Harvey Barnes misses out this evening with a minor hamstring injury." The injury sums up what has been a miserable first campaign for Barnes since his £38million move from Leicester City.

Barnes missed 27 first-team games due a toe injury suffered back in September during the 8-0 win over Sheffield United. And the 26-year-old was not risked against Chelsea tonight with the one-time England international left at home.
Speaking about his injury woes this season, Barnes said last month: "It’s difficult when you speak to different specialists and you get different opinions from the professionals. That’s tough. We made the decision to give it a go without the operation. It’s been the right decision, because it’s all good now."
Barnes will hope he can be involved in as many of the final 10 Premier League games as possible but it remains to be seen whether he plays in the FA Cup sixth round tie at Manchester City at the weekend.
