Rangers hero says Nathan Moriah-Welsh could have ENDED John Lundstram’s season as he reviews Hibs star’s red card

FORMER Rangers captain Barry Ferguson reckons Nathan Moriah-Welsh was LUCKY to only be facing a suspension after his tackle on John Lundstram yesterday.
That's because he reckons he could have been looking at leaving the Gers midfielder CROCKED for the rest of the season.
Ferguson said the Hibs star's tackle was so bad it could have left Lundstram facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines out injured.
He was also in no doubt that the lunge - despite minimal contact with the player - deservedly merited a straight red card.
Moriah-Welsh was the second Hibs player to be sent off in the 2-0 Scottish Cup defeat to Rangers, as he lost his cool just three minutes after Jordan Obita was red carded after picking up two bookings.
Speaking on Go Radio, Ferguson said: "It is a crazy challenge. It is a red card all day.

"The good thing about it is he never connected with Lundstram. If he did it could have been a season ending injury.
"For me, all day a red card.
"It was a rush of blood and I could see it when the ball broke and Lundstram took a heavy touch. There is no need to dive in like that with your two feet. Definitely a red card in my eyes."
Ferguson continued by saying Moriah-Welsh knew himself it was a bad one.

And he is so adamant that he doesn't see why any observer would deem the challenge anything other than a red card.
"He's just lucky he never connected. I don't see why anybody can have any arguments that it wasn't a red card.
"It was reckless and the boy knew himself. I know he was putting his hands up and saying 'oh I didn't touch him', but he knew himself that it was a red card all day."
Meanwhile, Hibs fans have written to Easter Road club chiefs to complain about the behaviour of Rangers fan during the quarter-final clash.
They have voiced anger over what they describe as "sectarian and anti-Irish singing" during the cup game.
