Aston Villa take on West Ham at the London Stadium in the Premier League this afternoon (2pm kick-off).
Unai Emery's side were downed 4-0 at home to their closest Champions League rivals Tottenham Hotspur last Sunday and arrive in the capital looking to return to winning ways in the league. Villa managed to progress in the Europa Conference League and reach the quarter-finals by beating Ajax 4-0 on Thursday night, while West Ham thrashed Freiburg 5-0 at home.
The Hammers have been in indifferent form having won two of their last nine league games, but those victories over Brentford and Everton came in their last three. Meanwhile, Villa have won their last three away league games against Sheffield United, Fulham and Luton and are unbeaten in seven on the road in all competitions.
West Ham are unbeaten in their past eight Premier League home games against Villa since a 2-1 loss in April 2011 under Avram Grant and Villa are looking to complete the Premier League double over West Ham for just the second time after winning 4-1 at Villa Park back in October.
Villa are unbeaten in eight Premier League games in London under Emery, winning the past four in a row, having lost eight of their previous nine under Steven Gerrard and Dean Smith. It's their longest run without defeat, and joint-longest winning run in the capital in their league history.
Villa are without their captain John McGinn, who begins serving a three-match ban this afternoon. Ollie Watkins could be involved despite sustaining a deep cut on his knee which forced him off in the first half of Villa's win over Ajax on Thursday night.

Key Events
Emery's reaction
Unai Emery, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "Good afternoon. We didn't control the game in the first half. We were not progressing to impose our position. When they are connecting with their attacking players, they scored one goal. We changed tactics in the second half and we got chances to score a goal and in the end we did score. The second half, we deserve it more than the first half. The referee decided it was handball.
"We had a plan before the match and the plan can change. The players had to be ready and focussed in case we needed them like today. Zaniolo is working and he is focussed.
"In this Premier League level it is difficult because the set piece takers are good. It is important to not concede set pieces. Overall, I think tactically in the second half we dominated and imposed our position.
"It's better to win but we draw and I think it's good and we have to accept it."
Zaniolo's reaction
Nicolo Zaniolo speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "It was a very good match. The first half they were more aggressive but we played well in the second half. Our team is very good. We competed well today and we have to fight.
"It will be very hard [the top-four fight] but we are a very good team. We have a very good coach and we prepare very well."

Final thoughts
The players are about to come back out on to the pitch ahead of kick-off. Villa have an opportunity to essentially void thier defeat to Spurs last time out after they lost to Fulham on Saturday.
Interesting team selection from Unai Emery, who hands Jhon Duran his first Premier League start. He'll play alongside Ollie Watkins - excited to see how that dynamic works. Morgan Rogers and Leon Bailey supporting them makes for a dangerous frontline for Villa.
Cash: Villa must take games as they come
Matty Cash does not want to get bogged down in the UEFA co-efficient conundrum which could see a fifth-placed Premier League finish earn Champions League qualification.
“We have spoken about that in meetings,” the right-back said. “We are not looking too far ahead, I know it’s not the answer you want to hear.
“But it’s what we speak about, our main focus right now is obviously to bounce back from a defeat we didn’t want. That is all we are focusing on.
“Our main focus is to finish as high as we can. We don’t want to put too much pressure on ourselves, what we have done is focus on the next game. I know that’s cliche, but that’s all we can do.
“That’s got us this far with our mentality and the way we perform. We want to finish as high as we can, we are very ambitious, the owners, the fans, we all want to do as well as we can. We just want to focus on each game.”
Emery: Villa can cope with workload
“Now the players have to be ready, have to be professional, playing matches and recovering, being intelligent and professional because now playing next week in the national teams - we have lots of players doing a debut in Europe this year but are playing with the national team, for example Watkins and Konsa are with the England national team but before they didn't play there and now they have to be ready to play more than one match a week.
“This is the way. This is the process and the progress here. Playing today is hard to play on Sunday. We have to recover on Friday, focus on the match on Saturday and be ready to play.”
Sutton’s prediction
Chris Sutton is tipping Aston Villa to get over their European heroics quicker than West Ham and defeat them this afternoon.
Sutton told BBC Sport: "Both these teams were in action in Europe on Thursday night and it's going to be interesting to see how much those ties take out of them, but I still think Aston Villa will win this one. Villa have more quality than the Hammers, as they showed when they beat them 4-1 in October.
"Unai Emery's side always create chances and, even in their 4-0 defeat against Tottenham last time out, if they had been more clinical then it would have been a very different game."
Sutton’s prediction: West Ham 1-2 Villa
Dealing without McGinn
"I can’t say anything negative about him," Emery said about his captain. "My experience with him here, there is no doubt, I can always be proud of him even with a red card like on Sunday. For us he is very important. His mentality to help the team in different position is always very positive.
"His performances are always more or less doing his work and being brilliant. Sometimes we need more offensively, sometimes defensively but always he is ready to play and ready to do his best.
"This year he was scoring goals, playing a lot of matches and now he is going to rest compulsory. He was sad on Sunday and he was responsible. I know he was very disappointed but we had to try to be positive and move on. We were losing 2-0 and he was trying to put the team on his back.
”He did one action. He knows it was a difficult moment but we will move on, tomorrow he is playing and on Sunday he is resting and we have other players ready to play. He will move on."
