Lee Dixon makes knockout joke towards Sam Matterface during ITV FA Cup commentary
Lee Dixon's FA Cup tirade, which started with a grumble about caps, continued as he seemingly jokingly threatened to knock out commentary colleague Sam Matterface
Fans think Lee Dixon jokingly threatened to knock out commentary colleague Sam Matterface during Manchester United’s thrilling FA Cup win over Liverpool.
The ITV pundit began the quarter-final by moaning about the absence of cap-wearing goalkeepers. Then, towards the end of normal time, perhaps getting carried away at what was an enthralling spectacle, Dixon turned his sights on Matterface.
After the camera panned to world heavyweight champion and United fan Tyson Fury in the crowd, the play-by-play commentator pondered who would be getting knocked out and denied a place in the semi-final draw with Coventry, Manchester City and Chelsea.
