‘When I speak to Edu’… Gilberto Silva shares what he has been told about Arsenal players now

Gilberto Silva has given his verdict on whether Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal could beat Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool and Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City to the Premier League title this season.

Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City are the three teams competing for the Premier League title.

The Gunners are at the top of the league table with 64 points from 28 games. The North London club are level on points with Liverpool, who are second. Defending champions City are third with 63 points from 28 games.

Arsenal have also progressed to the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League. Mikel Arteta’s side will take on Bayern Munich for a place in the last four.

Gilberto Silva has given his take on whether Arsenal could win the league title this season. The Gunners legend thinks that the team have what it takes to get the job done in the end.

The Brazilian has also shared what Arsenal Sporting Director Edu has told him about the hunger in the team.

Gilberto Silva comments on Arsenal

Gilberto told CaughtOffside about Arsenal potentially winning the Premier League title: “It won’t be easy. But I do think Arsenal can win the Premier League.

“Last year they came so close. I was very sad for them. I know what it’s like to come close to success then lose. I had it in the 2006 Champions League Final [which Arsenal lost 2-1 to Barcelona in Paris].

“Arsenal has a very good team right now, and there is a hunger to win. When I speak to Edu that’s always clear. So now they need a big effort because it’s not going to be easy to finish above Liverpool and Manchester City.”

My View: Arsenal fans should feel confident

In my opinion, Arsenal fans should feel confident about the team’s chances of ending the season with a flourish.

The Gunners are in a very good position. They are scoring goals and are mean defensively. Arsenal are also more experienced and more mature because of how they stumbled in the final weeks of last season.

Arsenal have scored 70 goals in the Premier League and has conceded only 24 goals. That is simply superb.
