Former Chelsea star files for divorce after learning twins he raised were fathered by wife's ex

Geremi, who won two Premier League titles during his time at Chelsea, has filed for divorce after discovering that the twins he raised were fathered by his wife's ex

Former Chelsea star Geremi is seeking a divorce after finding out that the children he raised were actually fathered by his wife's ex. Court papers in Cameroon reveal that the retired 45 year old midfielder discovered that the twins he thought were his, are actually the children of his wife Laure's previous husband.

The documents, which were leaked to the media in Yaounde, claim that she "destroyed the harmony" of their marriage with her "through her abject behaviour" and "repeated lies."

The twins were born in June 2008, four years before Geremi and Laure got married. The court papers also state: "No children have been born from this union... [and] the discovery that the children were from her previous partner destroyed the couple's harmony."

Geremi says that this revelation has "psychologically damaged him" and caused "a huge emotional shock." He described the news, which came after a paternity test, as a "serious and renewed violation of the duties and obligations of marriage.", reports the Mirror.

He played for Chelsea between 2003 and 2007, during which time he won two Premier League titles. Before joining the West London team, this midfielder bagged a Spanish league title and two Champions League trophies with Real Madrid, followed by a season on loan at Middlesbrough.
