Celtic fans utterly baffled as David Martindale gets Hoops star confused with Man City hero in TV interview

CELTIC fans have been wondering if they missed a blockbuster transfer deal after a bizarre gaffe from Livingston boss David Martindale.
That's after the Lions gaffer confused a Hoops star with a Manchester City ace.
Celtic were in West Lothian on Sunday to take on Livi.
And after being frustrated by the hosts in the first half, a Jamie Brandon own goal eventually gave Brendan Rodgers' men the breakthrough on 49 minutes.
Paulo Bernardo and Matt O'Riley then fired home to secure what was a comfortable 3-0 win in the end.
The victory sent the Hoops back to the top of the Scottish Premiership table, meaning they'll take a one point lead into Sunday's Old Firm showdown with Rangers at Ibrox.
As for Livi, the table makes for grim reading.
They're rock bottom on 17 points, ten points behind Ross County.
Frustrated boss Martindale spoke to the club's TV channel after the game to assess the match.
He said: "Is that not the story of the season? I'm sick of bumping into people, speaking to people - 'I've seen you, you were good in that game, you won't go down.'
"Half time we get in, make a couple of tweaks, minor adjustments, because I thought the game plan was good. Distances were good, aggression was good. We limited them to very little."
But as he continued to go over the game, Martindale manage to mix up one of Celtic's defenders with one of Manchester City's top men.
Martindale went on: "There was a lot to be positive about. I made a couple of wee tweaks, I thought Tete (Yengi) in the first half kept dropping in.
"It gave Carter-Vickers and John Stones an easy option, they just went tight with him, whereas the space was down the channels."
Martindale was, of course, referring to Liam Scales and NOT English Premier League title-winning Man City and England centre-back Stones.
Unsurprisingly, the slip of the tongue caught Hoops fans' attention.
One said: "Celtic kept the John Stones transfer quiet."
A second added: "John who.."
A third commented: "John Stones?"
A fourth said: "So when were Celtic planning on announcing John Stone?"
