Ethan Ampadu turns Leeds United transfer fixer as he 'pressurises' star to sign
The Wales man will do all he can to get his team-mate to stay long term
Ethan Ampadu has assured Leeds United fans he will be looking to persuade Welsh team-mate Joe Rodon to stay at the Whites beyond this season.
Leeds signed Rodon from Tottenham Hotspur on a season-long loan last summer and the centre-back has been at the heart of the Championship’s best defence this term.
The Whites have conceded just 31 goals, the lowest in the league.
Daniel Farke’s side currently sit in second position, on the brink of promotion with six games of the season left. If Leeds do secure a return to the Premier League, Spurs could ask for up to £15million for the Welshman.

Ampadu, however, one of four Welshmen at Leeds, has vowed to try to convince his fellow countryman to stay at Elland Road regardless of their promotion hopes.
“I’ll be pressuring him, he knows that,” Ampadu said.
“A lot of Leeds fans enjoyed it when I commented on his photo one time. I haven’t done it in a while, but we are telling him to stay.
“Everyone knows how much we appreciate him and what he has done this year.”
Rodon has played down any transfer speculation, insisting he is focusing on his football for now.
“I don’t really look into that. All I can control is now. I’ll give everything for Leeds,” he said.
Leeds travel to Coventry this weekend to begin a difficult run-in which includes fixtures against Middlesbrough and Sunderland as well as Southampton on the last day of the season.
