Commentators who can’t hide their bias really p*** me off.

While working Liverpool vs Brighton last weekend, Jamie Carragher claimed: “You’re just desperate for the ball to fall to Alexis Mac Allister’s feet.'' Errr, perhaps you are Carra, but the rest of us could do without your biased babblings.

We could also do without you calling every other Liverpool player ‘That Man™’ during every sodding replay too by the way.

Gary Neville is no better. He turns into Sulk Hogan whenever Man Utd concede a goal, and would probably have another go at managing Valencia before admitting his former team were outclassed (remember when Liverpool 'didn't play that well' after beating United 7-0? What delicious madness).

Meanwhile, in a desperate, and typically annoying, bid to remind everyone he used to be a footballer, Jermaine Jenas constantly refers to former clubs Newcastle and Tottenham as ‘us’, and do you know what’s amazing? Steve McManaman has never actually seen Liverpool concede a foul - opting instead to use his tedious ‘Nope. Nothing in that’ and ‘Nah. Not for me’ catchphrases over and over again.

Who is the most biased commentator in football? Let us know in the comments section below.

Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher
Neville and Carragher are rubbish at hiding their bias

I get it, football is intensely tribal, and asking former pros not to root for their former teams is like asking Raheem Sterling to square the ball when he’s through on goal - it’s a pointless exercise.

But these blokes are paid to call matches, not subtly cheerlead from the sidelines like a mum who promised her nine-year-old she wouldn’t embarrass him on sports day.

So how about this: let’s ban broadcasters from commentating on the teams they support - because my mute button is as worn out as Old Trafford’s roof at this point.

Leave Kalvin alone you saddos

Kalvin Phillips responds to taunts from West Ham fans
Kalvin Phillips gave some West Hams the middle finger after they shouted abuse at him

West Ham supporters going after Kalvin Phillips can absolutely do one. Sure, the Man City loanee has been Nicolas Jackson in a 1v1 situation-levels of rubbish since moving to east London, but how is he the bad guy for flipping off an abusive Hammers fan?

For those who missed it, Phillips was heckled as he made his way onto the team bus following Saturday’s defeat to Newcastle by an absolute saddo who told him he was ‘useless’ and to ‘get out of my club’.

Granted, the ex-Leeds man is a plonker for losing his cool and sticking his middle finger up, but you don’t get to hurl insults at a stranger and then whinge when you get one back. That’s as nonsensical as asking Pep Guardiola what his favourite shampoo is.

I honestly don’t know what’s more brainless - thinking Phillips is the inconsiderate jacka** in here or that assuming calling him useless might motivate him. At the end of the day, if you go out of your way to hurl abuse at a footballer you’re nothing more than an entitled muppet - like Kermit the Frog when Miss Piggy’s looking for a smooch.
