Sir Jim Ratcliffe continued his ongoing support of Manchester United and Erik ten Hag this season by attending the Reds' Premier League clash with rivals Liverpool at Old Trafford.

The English billionaire has attended a number of games since acquiring 28 per cent of the club from the Glazers in January. The INEOS founder has been handed the reigns of the football matters and direction of the club when it comes to stadium redevelopment.


Ten Hag's men welcomed Liverpool to the Theatre of Dreams looking to derail their Premier League title hopes. Luis Diaz had put Liverpool ahead in the first half but the score was levelled shortly after half-time through an unusual Bruno Fernandes strike.

At half-time, the TV cameras panned to Ratcliffe alongside Dave Brailsford in the directors' box at Old Trafford. However, there was a surprise guest speaking to the members of the United hierarchy as Sam Allardyce was spotted in conversation with the pair.

'Big Sam' has been out of work since leaving Leeds United at the end of last season. The former England boss is renowned for steering teams to safety after being appointed with them in difficult situations.

Allardyce is well-known for being good friends with Sir Alex Ferguson. The United legend is a regular in the Directors' box at Old Trafford when United play.
