Scott Brown lets rip at referee after yellow card drama and claims ‘he said a few things to me that weren’t appropriate’

SCOTT BROWN was booked by referee Iain Snedden during Ayr United's game against Morton tonight - and has claimed the whistler made the game all about himself.
The United boss was one of several coaches shown a yellow card by Sneddon in a tense Championship clash at Somerset Park.
Morton took the lead through former Rangers and Kilmarnock defender Kirk Broadfoot before Anton Dowds equalised for Ayr.
But tensions escalated during the game and Brown alleges that Sneddon said things that were inappropriate towards him on the touchline.
The Ayr head coach let rip at his performance after the match and fired a barb in his direction, saying it was "obviously a big occasion for him".
Brown said: "The referee made the game about himself.
"It was obviously a big occasion for him.
"I was booked at half time, he said a few things to me that weren't appropriate but it should be more about the two teams than him.
"He booked more members of the coaching staff than players.
"Our lads dealt with what was a stop-start game very well.
"I was proud of how we played tonight and the lads' understanding of the game.
"But we need to keep getting points on the board and also start getting clean sheets."
Brown, 38, has been in charge of the Honest Men since January this year when he replaced Lee Bullen.
The former Celtic captain was dismissed by Fleetwood Town in September last year after taking one point from their first six league games, despite a positive 13th-placed finish in his first season at the club.
He had previously stepped into coaching with Aberdeen as a player-coach under Stephen Glass.
Brown's record at Ayr is six wins and six losses plus a draw in his 13 games in charge.
United remain safe from relegation at the moment but are just four points above the play-off spot currently occupied by Inverness, with Arbroath all but doomed at the bottom of the table.
