Cadiz v Barcelona - Barcelona secure 1-0 win

Barcelona were able to scrape past Cadiz with a 1-0 win in La Liga on Saturday night.

Xavi Hernandez watched the game from the stands as he fielded a largely second-string side with one eye on the second leg of the Champions League quarter-final against Paris Saint-Germain.

Three points would take Barca eight points behind Real Madrid after 31 games for both, and Joao Felix opened the scoring on 36 minutes with a smart overhead kick from a corner, and Fermin Lopez had a shot cleared off the line shortly after.

In the second half, Barcelona pressed hard for a second but Cadiz had a goal disallowed from Juanmi and had a penalty appeal against Cubarsi ignored.

Marc-Andre Ter Stegen was on hand to produce a vital save for Diadie Samassekou’s shot from distance as they held on for all three points.

Barcelona’s next match is against PSG on Tuesday, while Cadiz face Girona next Saturday.

That's. Barcelona win 1-0 and go eight points behind Real while risking few of their first teamers.
