Alistair Johnston hails ‘decent backline’ as Celtic ace and Cameron Carter-Vickers pose with dogs on beach walk

YESTERDAY they had Greg Taylor and Maik Nawrocki alongside them as they racked up a clean sheet in the home win over St Mirren.
But it was a back four with a difference that Celtic duo Cameron Carter-Vickers and Alistair Johnston rolled out earlier today – one with added BITE!
The pair were both instrumental in stretching the Hoops’ lead to four points at the top of the table with the 3-0 win over the Buddies.
Carter-Vickers put in a classy display at the back to show how much he had been missed during his injury lay-offs.
And Johnson provided assists for Reo Hatate and Kyogo Furuhashi early in the second half to eventually break down St Mirren’s resistance, with Adam Idah making it three late on.
The weekend got even better for Celtic when Rangers failed to close the gap in the title race – going down 3-2 to Ross County in Dingwall.

And Johnston showed that he and Carter-Vickers were enjoying a beautiful Sunday as they took their dogs for a walk along the beach.
The pair seem to be as close off the park as they are on it as they stopped for a photo with their pooches that Johnston shared on his Instagram.
“Decent backline we got here,” he wrote as he posed with his black labrador named Salem next to Carter-Vickers and his own prized chow-chow.
And one of the first to reply was former team-mate Liel Abada fresh from bagging his first goal for new club Charlotte in the MLS.

“Like a lion bro,” was how he described Carter-Vickers’ big dog.
Celtic fans were loving the beach bromance between the two defenders, too.
One wrote: “Think this is the best picture of all time.”
Another added: “No chance that water (from the sea) is getting passed that wall.”
While a third punned: “Cameron Carter Woofers”.
And a fourth chimed in “To be fair, Scales and Taylor have been “dogged” too in our success.”
The beach landscape – thought to be somewhere in Ayrshire – also led to a few comments.
One wag wrote: “Looks like Dens Park on a Wednesday night.”
