Fabio Silva 'dive' gives Rangers hero Ally McCoist the giggles as he scrambles to defend bizarre blooper

The madcap moment occurred after the forward had been left with an open goal against Hearts.

Ally McCoist couldn't hold back his laughter as Rangers star Fabio Silva was accused of a bizarre "dive" against Hearts.

Cyriel Dessers was the hero at Hampden as his double fired the Light Blues into the Scottish Cup final showdown and set up a blockbuster showdown with Celtic at the national stadium next month. But, the striker could have had a hat-trick in Mount Florida in the closing stages as he broke through on Craig Gordon's goal in the closing stages of the clash.

However, he opted to cut the ball back to e Silva - leaving the Wolves loanee with an open goal. However, he collapsed in the box under no pressure from the Hearts' defence - sparking confusion over what had happened. Asked for an explanation on Premier Sports, Michael Stewart on commentary was quick to fire back: "A dive."

McCoist attempted a defence: "I think it's just behind him. I am trying to defend him. Dessers does brilliant and he knocks it into a space where he thinks Silva has a complete and utter tap in. I think he is maybe ahead of it a bit and it gets caught under his feet - that is the best I can offer you."

A replay was then shown - and the Rangers hero could clearly be heard giggling before saying: "We shouldn't laugh. I don't know if he loses his footing."

Post-match, the Rangers' legend couldn't let it go stating: "I don't know what's going on there. Can one of you two (Alan Hutton and Robert Snodgrass) please enlighten me? Oh my god. I'll tell you what did surprise me, I don't know why Dessers passes it."
