Ashley Young trolls Nottingham Forest with 'Old Skool Tune' after VAR outrage
Everton's win over Nottingham Forest was a touchy topic after the Toffees triumphed in controversial fashion - but there was no sympathy shown for the opposition by Ashley Young
Despite approaching the end of his fourth decade, Ashley Young isn't ready to grow up just yet.
While much of the football world has shown some sympathy for Nottingham Forest in the wake of their contentious 2-0 loss at Everton, Toffees defender Ashley Young appears to be all out. That's after the former Manchester United and Inter Milan star responded to Sunday's drama with some Monday morning trolling of the highest order.
It was, after all, Young who found himself at the centre of three separate penalty appeals for Forest. The 38-year-old was accused of fouling twice to give away spot-kicks, while Nuno Espirito Santo's side believed they should have also been awarded a penalty chance for a Young hand-ball.

Most players might attempt to fly under the radar and keep quiet when there's such heat around their name. But Young proved he's not most players after uploading a screengrab of his Monday listening - 'Cry Me a River' by Justin Timberlake.
"Old Skool Tunes For Today," wrote the veteran on X (formerly Twitter) alongside a pair of winking emojis. And many fans couldn't quite believe the gall of the player to poke fun less than 24 hours after Forest threatened action against England's football authorities after feeling they were deprived at Goodison Park.

"We’re living in a simulation," wrote one incredulous supporter in response to Young's post. More chimed in with chains of crying emojis and typed simply: "No way."
"I thought it was a parody account for once," added a third social media user in awe at the audacity. And a fourth commented: "You nearly gave away three pens. [For] some crazy reason you were lucky. Lets not gloat as it could easily be us."
Everton's second win in three games lifted them five points above the relegation zone with five games to play, while most of the teams around them have played one game more. Forest, meanwhile, are just one point clear in 17th and face an uncertain battle against the drop in their final four games.
